Want to learn to draw? 3 proportions help you to draw!!!

Hello! Cutie, I am Comic black rainbow

Many people who want to learn to draw ask

"Why I need to learn those drawing proportions?"

"I can draw anything even I don’t know about any drawing proportion?"

Yes

If you are happy in drawing

You don't need to know so many rules and knowledge.

But if you read here

It means that you actually care about this issue right?

Today, I will introduce three kinds of drawing proportions to you.

It would help you when you are drawing, Whether you draw a picture composition or a character or an object.

Drawing proportion 1-Golden ratio

I believe that the Venus statue is a great work that everyone is familiar with! The body proportion of Venus is carved with the golden ratio. The ratio of the overall height and lower body length that the navel to the sole is 1.618:1.

The "golden ratio" is also called the "golden division law." Taking picture 1 as an example, there is a straight line AC divided into two at point B. The author of "Geometry Original", Euclide defined the golden ratio: (long section, short section) = (full length, long section). But this article is mainly to introduce the use of the golden ratio in drawing, so I don't do a demonstration of mathematical calculations. If you want to know how the golden ratio is mathematically calculated from this hypothesis, you can search it online!

The use of the golden ratio is in various fields, such as the Eiffel Tower, the Greek Temple, the violin design, and so on.

Therefore, when you are drawing, if you want to draw a realistic picture, but you feel that the character or the architecture is too slender or short and flat when you are drawing, you may try to put a gold ratio in and try to see how it works!

Drawing proportion 2-Golden ratio - spiral

Rasengan!

No! I mean is the golden ratio - spiral! Golden ratio - spiral is extended from the golden ratio. It’s common to see animals and plants. For example shells, snail shells, seahorses, ferns, petals of certain flowers...etc.

Sometimes even natural scenery as a typhoon, a galaxy, etc.

But when we draw or design something. The golden ratio - spiral is best suited to make the composition. Such as the smile of Mona Lisa.

In addition to grabbing the proportion of a picture. The golden ratio - spiral also helps creators capture the sense of density. So it’s very suitable to use in composition and design.

Drawing proportion 3-Silver ratio

The silver ratio may not have been heard by everyone. But the proportion of A3, A4, A5, etc. I believe that people know the well-known proportion. The ratio of length to width is "the ratio of the short side to the long side of the isosceles right triangle", which is the silver ratio.

In addition, like a cute character in Japan is created with the silver ratio

As Doraemon, Hello Kitty, Pudding Dog, etc.

Japan's famous traditional building, Horyuji Temple is also built with the silver ratio. So if you want to design a cute character or japan architecture. You can consider using this ratio to help you complete your work.

After introducing these ratios

When you are drawing a picture which ratio would you use to help you draw the feeling you want?

Of course on the road of creating

The ratio is not an absolute rule

It should not be a stumbling block that hinders you to create.

You can make changes according to your needs.

But at some time

The ratio can not only coordinate the picture more beautiful and balanced

It is also a reference value that is convenient for you to quantify!

This is why we can see these ratios is everywhere

In many designs, works of art, architecture, natural scenery, etc.

And in the works of many masters

I saw they used these tools, even after learning the tools, throw away the tools, instead of being tied by those tools.

(It’s as you are a junior swordsman with a knife to cut the master

But Master will knock you down without any knife.)

If you have any questions or opinions, please feel free to tell me in the comment below or use social media or mail to share with me! I am happy that you can read this article and hope it can help you! If you find those proportions to help you when you create your work, please share it with me!!!
